Uncommon along the coast, the bridled tern has a thin white supercillium that extends behind the eye and a dark hind-crown that contrasts with a paler neck and back. The upper three photos were taken on Maziwe island (11-14), courtesy of Paul Oliver. The 3rd row adult in flight (Fish Eagle Point, 11-21) is courtesy of Per Holmen and the bottom tow photos of an adult and juvenile were taken in the channel between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar (12-19), courtesy of Jörgen Eriksson.
